Sunset yesterday: as soft and pink as an aurora over the fields to the fjord, a bright brush of rainbow curving up into sky
A horizontal picture of yesterday's sunset. The sky is as soft and purple pink in the fading light as an aurora, hugging the horizon and bathing the fields as they curve and swoop gently to the fjord, not visible in the pic but very much there, just on the other side of the treeline. As for the fields, even the rich chocolate of the recently planted field to the left and the fluffy bright green of the new grass in front are fading to pink in the kiss of evening light. Tying the image together, and just right of centre frame, is the bright whisker of a rainbow as it curves up into sky.

an image of the shallows of the local fjord, almost exactly centre of the previous pic. the water is so clear here it feels like looking through air, only the smallest hint of bubbles giving away the liquid composition. rocks and shells are strewn haphazardly across the image, in the way a small child might decorate an iced cookie or cake with sprinkles and sugar pearls. in the very centre frame lays one small starfish, approx. 3cm across, only the second such friend i've ever met in this water. eir body is pink with hints of purple where the texture is moist pronounced, several of eir arms ending in white like the tip of a pencil or a cat's white socks. eir left arm is bent up as if in a welcoming hello, inviting the viewer to take a step closer and come splashing in

A shortstack of pancakes (mushrooms) nestled into the mossy feet of a shaggy pine tree on this bright, windy, definitely spring day

Any guesses about the kind of mushroom? We've been joking about their visual similarities to pancakes, stroopwafels, injera, shelves...
a vertical pic of several large mushrooms, just the caps, all snuggled on top of each other and into the mossy feet of an usually large needle tree that was more droopy shag than anything else. the mushrooms are a gorgeous chestnut brown, thin and woody, wrinkling upwards at the edges in the way that very thin pancakes or very thick crepes do, lovingly decorated with pine cones, the greens and browns of pine needles and bright pools of early spring light.

That feeling when the deep winter freeze might be over and everyone starts to thaw, making the fleece moss and the star moss and their lichen frens look greener - lusher - fluffier - growier

A favourite winter scene: Iced fjord, with bonus ice wafers pushed up into gloriously whipped ice mountains by the tide and falling down back onto the fjord as they melt in the sun
One of my favourite winter scenes: strong sunshine, frozen fjord ice, thick sheets of thin ice wafers tousled haphazardly into each other on the beach. As intricately textured and delicate as lace, these thin wafers pile on top of each other and then slide all around with the most delectable cronch. Here we see an ice smooth blanket of fjord across the top of the image, and a small mountain of textured ice wafers across the bottom half of the image. Where ice meets ice, several wafers can be seen sunning themselves like sea lions or perhaps volunteering themselves as delicate hockey pucks. Winter at its finest, bonus points for the sighing ice as it was gently rocked by hints of waves. 14/10 would linger again

A puddle of pancake shaped and coloured mushrooms, decoratively arranged on the back of a fallen over European oak, with some casually strewn pine twigs clearly cosplaying as early Chinese characters on top of the centre most of the mushroom pancakes. Clearly visible is the gorgeous texture of the oak, all dark browns with rustic red highlights, and the bed of lush star moss and fleece moss in their gorgeous greens Side view looking straight into a slice of European oak trunk cloaked in a thick robe of lusciously green fleece moss that covers everything except the 4 clearly visible mushrooms growing out of the trunk. These mushrooms have waxy hats and firm, sponges bottoms and give the distinct impression of cosplaying as wooden xylophones for the gorgeous, clear notes that ring out when gently tapped. The image is composed as typical still life, all balanced greens and browns and yet, it is becoming with life and invites the viewer in to stay awhile. 14/10 would linger again

a narrow mossy pathway curves between tall walls of pine trees, thickly coated with fleecey moss the way one might overdecorate a house with fake spider webs at Halloween. the path is wide enough for one human or two dogs, the trees high and there is only the faintest sliver of sky cutting a path between the tree tops, mirroring the mossy pathway. this corner of the forest looks and feels like a labyrinth, and the image invites the viewer to step right in a close up of a european oak trunk which shows off the textures of the bark as well as the tapestry of coral lichen and fleece moss woven through it. in the distance, birch trees stretch their tired trunks across a brook which burbles and bubbles boisterously. the image feels like bright and harsh sunlight of early spring

Saturday morning art ft. fountain pens, inks, A5 dot grid and washi
The bottom quarter of an A5 page, lined with washi tape and embellished with freehand geometric art in repeating patterns. The washi features a gently swirling pastel rainbow with decorative gold foil stars. Above it are freehand fans, in more typical rainbow hues, looking rather like scales for the year of the snake. A full A5 page with geometric art drawn with ruler. There are 4 bands alternating in colour, pattern and visual density: a pretty blue violet with simply crossed squares, looking calm and soothing for all its geometric simplicity. Then fox brown with the same underlying shape embellished with triangles, looking like a fancy jewellery chain or stained glass, visually soothing and satisfying despite the complexity in form. Repeat.

Luscious lichen and magnificent moss: an exquisitely textured branch rests in a thick carpeting bed of moss, everything lookIng soft, lush and green with criss crossing moss stars. Pomegranate dino pop, as you do
