I barter with eggs and honey, I have received bottles of wine, dishtowels, plant starts and herbs, baked goods and a lot of jams and jellies. Such a better system than money if you can afford it.

wow, do they get to have schools or police or houses in this new city or just shacks with a tar paper roof? I am surprised she came back from her winter house in Florida or Arizona to bring up this idea.

yeah Israel is sucking up to the clown while giving up prisoners that they are planning to send off to elsewhere while building a resort in Gaza, none of this will work out for the Palestinians, though glad to hear those who have suffered so much are home.

I am DAR as well! Family has served every generation since and I have a son that works for the DIA, I too am frightened. Now they are going after the Arts, (and the media) very unsettling.

agree, and with Lynnwood increasing housing density it makes perfect sense to increase walkers and community building with neighborhood cafes (though it really is one of the worst cities in the area and doesn't seem to be getting much better).

do they "give" money to the feds? I don't know how all this works but I highly doubt it is an optional donation that they can withdraw. I live in a blue state and hope it works that way, we have an excellent governor who is taking on the EO's already.

Ryan, I am just a normal person who lives here in the burbs of Seattle, I appreciate your reporting. I have left watching MSM with the issues of integrity so focusing more on local issues. Reading your posts here and on The Urbanist allows me to engage in some way. Thanks and your work matters.

I had my bike stolen, reported it and homeowners insurance (with deductible) helped buy a new one, a year later it showed up in the police evidence room. Insurance said I could buy it back (could not afford it) but they ended up giving it back right around xmas, best gift ever.

it is kind of difficult to feel sorry for someone living in Maple Leaf trying to get to SLU- try living in Everett or Lake Stevens (so that you can afford a house) and commuting to Swedish Hospital or Harborview to be a healthcare provider.

I don't blame them, big lots and an old neighborhood. Once the developers get in everything looks like Lynnwood or the hellscape of Redmond. It won't matter though, old folks die, grands want to sell for more money and neighborhoods change.

yeah we all know violence and murder is not the answer. however white collar crime is never adequately prosecuted and all of the media is being told to explain to the us how horrible this is. Access to health care should not depend on finances. I support and celebrate him.
