This delayed me leaving my abuser for over a year.
No one should be treated this way by medical staff.
Not me.
And not people suffering from drug addiction. If I didn’t feel safe to come forward for help, how could someone needing help to escape drugs, come forward under these conditions?

Bc of this treatment I told no one what had landed me in the hospital, which further tied me to my abuser who also visited me in hospital. Great actor, TBF. But I couldn’t admit to anyone what had happened bc in my head they were treating me how I deserved, considering at home I was getting worse.

Why would I take meds if you can’t make eye contact? He also ignored every single call my mother made to him trying to figure out how to handle my care once discharged.

When I regained consciousness w/tube in my throat & would try to sit up, my nurse would shove me down & yell YOU ARE IN A HOSPITAL STOP IT. My doctor wouldn’t look me in the eye or talk to me. They were angry I wouldn’t take the meds he prescribed me.
