The idea that peace means not having to deal with issues is a myth…. But that’s OK. If you are caring for people in this topsy turvy (and incredible) world, - give yourselves a few moments to consciously breathe. This can help calm your dear heart in the midst of a storm.

One of my mindset chapters for positive health and social care is about #compassion (These steps involve some of the other mindset principles too). #writingwithlove

And then there were two-in-the-making! After resisting good advice, I now see the sense in writing the current book as two separate works... one for staff and one for team leaders - about empowering approaches to health and social care for compassionate care without burnout. #FreshBookPlans

Writing about mirroring got deeply reflective. There are so many layers in health and social care (or any public service) encounters. Feels good to be able to unravel it with real examples. Walking helps too. Writing and walking. Perfect kind of day ❤️

Looking for some health and social care staff to read one of my chapters, to give feedback (Love, Hope and Empowerment in Caring Services- working title) 📙

Beautifully said. Many ways… being fully present, creating safe space… listening … connecting where people are. Valuing… and trusting the process, because re-defining happens… it shifts power.. leads to greater possibilities.
“Russell asks us to redefine how we see the world. He asks us to imagine a world in which everybody who is defined as a problem secures the power to redefine the problem. He asks us to rise to the challenge. He asks us to be the change we seek by creating space for others to be the change they seek”
There are four main modes of social change: to, for, with, and by. While there is a place for all four within community and economic development, avoiding the pitfalls of traditional ‘aid’ requires a well-delineated approach. researchoutreach.org/articles/wha...

Take a moment.
Bluebells are blooming.
Spring is quietly lifting the world.

Voices of hope and healing...threaded through a woodland floor.

This Mental Health Awareness Week, pause in nature with us.

Yes it’s a lane in the land the possibilities ❤️

Just completed a 12.5K word report, partly giving voice to people who felt afraid to go to caring services that were meant to help them. That’s when you know something has gone wrong with a system. But there’s hope. That’s the part I’m keen to explore. Dwelling in the land of possibilities. ✍️

Lots of conversations recently about health and social care services. I’ve been gathering stories for years. Glad to be writing about what could help services focus on wellness and possibility (for their staff and people accessing services), whilst acknowledging the depth of people’s experiences.

Finding some big truths about resistance in 'The War Of Art' (2012) @stevenpressfield.bsky.social It is affirming (though not always comfortable) that these self-doubts and fears about writing my current book just mean I'm on track! ✍️🌟 I've been here before- 'just gotta go on' (Captain Smollett)
