Walked the Muskeg yesterday. Picked enough Crowberries for a couple of jars of jam. Enjoying watching winter creep down from up high. Soon it will snow down here too.

What a summer. Complete with a drive x-country to deliver Dagny to college. Whales/ fish and spending every day on water filled in the rest. Elyn has started teaching in the Hoonah schools…and loving it.

Dagny is here for a visit. I’ve missed her very much. So good to spend time together pulling crab pots, picking berries and repairing stitches in Buko’s butt. The bear bite is healing well. Biggest challenge is keeping him calm to not rip stitches. #WFR #Alaskafun #fatherdaughter #krugerexpeditions

Haven’t posted in a bit. Been a tad busy. Chocolate Lilies…a happy Buko…our backyard (literally)…and a visitor to the masthead. This guy has taken to greeting me when I get home after work. Chitters and talks to me. Makes me feel welcome. The richness and biodiversity of Southeast Alaska hums.
Another day on Alaskan waters. Watched this game of ‘King of the Can’ for a while. SO much to see and do here…makes me feel like the fat kid at the hotdog stand. #sailing #waterlife #happyplace #alaska #photography

Just north of Thorne Bay in Clarence Strait I decided I needed more coffee. Seeing nothing forward I went down and started the water on the stove. The moment I returned to the helm…flub flub and the engine shut down. Wrapped prop. Time for a lil’ swim to unwrap. This line was hiding in a kelp ball.

Pulled up the hook at 0530 today. Will likely set it again at around 1800 tonight in Hoonah, Alaska. We’ve had a good run. Just the right amount of tense moments to legitimately call it an adventure. More on that later. Here’s a pic of Elyn and KÄVIK taken from Raven this morning. #pouvreau #alaska

“RAIN. Heavy at times.” The NWS on VHF was not incorrect. Waited out the snotty weather just north of Ketchikan. Had lunch with Mary and carried on. Got a lot of boat work done while we waited. Rocky Pass to Kake tomorrow. Baranof Warm springs day after. #alaska #sail #cruising #home #neversettle
