Just before you woke up today, House Republicans gutted healthcare and food assistance to pay for massive tax cuts for the rich.

Call your Senators and tell them to VOTE NO on the Billionaire Bailout Bill.

1/ We’ve been sounding the alarm for months and now the Congressional Budget Office has confirmed it.

This budget would gut Medicaid and SNAP, saddle states with new costs, and do real harm to working people.

Let’s break it down 🧵

$792 billion in Medicaid cuts.

$535 billion in Medicare cuts.

$101 billion in ACA cuts.

That’s not gonna play well in..[checks notes]…well, anywhere, actually.
Boyle: "This is really the breaking news ... because of the size of the deficits, because of the paygo act, that would trigger sequestration of Medicare, and it would total over $500 billion. The official figure that CBO confirms is $535 billion in cuts to Medicare."

We need funding for health care, education, and food assistance — not for Trump’s mass deportation agenda.

After a Republican rep claimed they aren’t targeting the disabled with their cuts, this woman shouted “You will kill me.”

Medicaid is NOT a handout. It’s how 4.8M Texans survive.

Republicans want to cut $715B from it while handing out tax cuts to billionaires.

That’s not “fixing” the budget, it’s disrespect for the people who need it most — and voting for that is un-American, plain and simple.

Texas is home to both the highest rate and number of uninsured folks.

The single most meaningful thing Texas could do to reduce ER costs is expand Medicaid- instead some Texas leaders are trying to scapegoat immigrants on faulty information.
When hospitals are underfunded, some politicians want you to blame immigrants.

The truth is, undocumented Texans contribute more than they receive, including property taxes that fund our local hospitals.

We need real solutions to reduce ER costs, like preventive care for all families. #txlege

Medicaid is the primary payer for most nursing home stays in America. Cutting it will leave seniors & working families with the impossible choice of going broke or struggling to provide care with no support. That’s the real cost of these so-called savings.
