Once we started going to a farm and harvesting heritage breed turkeys for thanksgiving we learned that turkey is actually delicious. I used to hate turkey, but you DON'T have to work hard to make it good. Just get a good turkey!

A female grackle doing the weirdest shit you've ever seen. It's fluffed up and its head is twisted unnaturally, with one wing held at a bonkers angle. It was just begging for food and it stopped doing this entirely two minutes later

As someone w aphantasia, very little of what's described in this article feels familiar to me. I have a great memory, I feel emotions strongly, I'm very creative, I'm an artist, etc etc. I just don't visualize stuff.

Aphantasics might skip over descriptive passages in books-since description aroused no images in their minds, they found it dull-or, because of such passages, avoid fiction altogether. Some aphantasics found the movie versions of novels more compelling, since these supplied the pictures that they were unable to imagine. Many could remember very little about their lives, and even with the events they did remember they could not muster the feeling of what they'd been like. They knew that some things had made them happy and others had made them sad, but that knowledge was factual it didn't evoke any emotions in the present.

A few weeks ago I repotted these prickly-pear cactus after having Nixta in Austin, TX foist their pruned paddles on me. They were so wrinkly and thirsty at first but they're finally starting to sprout!!!

Hosted a dinner last night with cubanos and coffee-infused flan. Please enjoy homemade Cuban rolls and mojo pork (courtesy of my perfect spouse) and the final result:

So fun update, my tattoo artist uses second skin(?) to initially protect the tat, and I recently removed it after the recommended time. It hurt so SO badly to remove, like, worse than getting the tattoo. Look at the bruise it left on my thigh!!

Karin's left thigh. There is a massive black linework Japanese dragon tattooed from just below the 3/4 outside of her hip to midway down the front of her calf, with the tail wrapping around the knee. The same tattoo but closer detail of the front of just above and just below the knee
