If someone called you a racist or a TERF then there‘s like at least a 90% chance they were right and it doesn‘t matter if whatever you said or did was intentionally racist or transphobic, or whether you think of yourself as a „good person“ or „ally“. What you need to do is reflect on it and shut up.

interestingly, the theory in the paper is that it's not the superhero per se, but that unexpected events in general increase mindfulness and thus pro-social behavior
so it's not that people are scared of batman, it's that seeing batman knocks them out of their general stupor
