Trump has used an unspeakable tragedy - the attack on members of the National Guard in DC - to ramp up anti-immigrant polices. I join Joseph Azam and Nick Miroff to speak on the issue on KQED's Forum today - www.kqed.org/forum/201010...
What Trump’s ‘Pause’ on Asylum Decisions Means for the Bay Area’s Afghan Community and Beyond | KQED
We talk about what these sweeping changes mean for legal immigrants, asylum seekers, and the federal agencies carrying out deportations.

This man ripped off teachers, nurses, small business owners - people from all walks of life and professions. Some lost their life savings. Not only did Trump let him out of prison, he also doesn’t have to pay back the victims.

Why is House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries lying on Donald Trump's behalf?

The US-Mexico border was not insecure last year and secure this year. That is not true.
Jeffries: "The border is secure. That's a good thing. It happened on his watch. He wants to claim credit for it, of course he'll get credit for that. In terms of making sure that we actually deal with the issues that matter, including on immigration, there's a lot that's left to be desired."

This is all true but

1) under no definition are we currently at war with Venezuela under domestic US law

2) since we aren’t, the initial strike was just as much a murder as the follow up

The failure to understand this by a huge range of actors is really driving me up the wall.
If the Venezuelan sailors were enemy combatants, then the 2nd strike is a war crime.

If the Venezuelan sailors weren’t enemy combatants, then both strikes are criminal murder.

It’s that simple.

We can both be horrified by this killing and honest about the killer… please Mr President… why not see why the suspect was given asylum by your administration . Why not figure out why this brutal attack was committed
MAJOR: The Trump Administration has been caught lying about the D.C. shooting suspect.

The truth: He was vetted by Trump. He had a CIA badge, worked with the CIA in Afghanistan, and granted asylum by Trump in April.

Surprise, surprise

Billionaires are buying elections to put people in power-Republicans-who will give them more tax breaks

Even if it comes at the expense of the poorest people in the country

Apparently, even though they have generational wealth for the next 1,000 years, there is never enough
We spent a year investigating billionaires for @washingtonpost.com.

We found: the wealthiest 100 Americans gave $1.1 billion to influence the 2024 elections — 140x more than they did in 2000. And almost all of that giving boosted Republicans.
