Our small, rural Iowa school sends jr high kids to DC on a trip every other year. Never a problem. Perfectly safe. This year I'm more concerned with the safety of the flights.

Likely to push up prices?! 3 weeks ago, I looked at an upright freezer at Menards- $749. I went back today to get it. The exact same one had gone up $420. I came home without it.

The small town store where we all went as kids- 50 years ago- is long gone. Thank goodness no one has had the heart to remove the old cement steps. When I go home and drive by there I want to stop and tell the kids that still gather on those steps that these are their "good old days".

Each of us grandkids looked forward to grandpa bringing us a little brown paper bag filled with candy for our birthday from the little country store out close to where he and grandma lived. Happy memories 😊
