I post boring bits of my life & anything I find interesting.
If you followed me from the old place because of hockey; don't bother. I stopped watching hockey a few years ago.

My Surprise Songs piano snowglobe is out for delivery today! Seems appropriate to get a snowglobe on a snowy day. Interesting because I ordered the TTPD snowglobe the day before and it hasn't shipped yet. They were READY on the Surprise Songs piano.
Also ... merch drop today? I think so ...

Another fraud story. What do you need to learn from this? You cannot obtain adequate segregation of duties when people are related. This situation should never have been allowed. If you are a business owner or a board member, learn that now.

Okay, black Friday sales in Canada are dumb. It is even dumber When the sales are already on. It isn't Friday yet. However, I just got a grey hoodie for $18 at Marks and since the deal was so great, I also bought a gray one.

The very kind building maintenance man just agreed with my self-assessment that I am very clean, but also very messy 😀
He's here to replace my stove and commented on how clean my stove and microwave are but he also saw how much stuff I had to move out of the way to make room for him

This is fascinating. Also, it is about damn time that this started happening. At the last place I worked, we compared salaries after we worked there. Crazy discrepancies some of which appeared to be sexism /ageism (pay older workers less).
An Ontario provincial government win? I don’t know how to process the Ford government doing something that’s good for Ontarians.
Woah!

Ontario passed a law starting Jan 2026 that it is illegal for companies to ghost you.

If you have interviewed for a job they are legally required to inform you if they hire someone else or close the position.

The law also requires salary transparency on listings and disclosing use of AI

Ok fellow Swifties ... will our wallets be safe today? We'll find out soon!

It is me! Today, I was deliberating whether or not to keep a whole bunch of old cables. Because, you just never know.
And books, I hold them in my hand and decide whether or not I should keep them. I keep them
Twitter accounts are based in Russia. BlueSky accounts are based in homes with, frankly, too many books, plants, obsolete cables, and pieces of rustic pottery, that could do with a bit of a tidying up, to be honest.

Perfect!
Were you a sleeper cell spy? In fifty years, will all this be declassified? And you'll confess why you did it and I'll say, "Good riddance" 'Cause it wasn't sexy once it wasn't forbidden. I would've died for your sins, instead, I just died inside. And you deserve prison, but you won't get time.

It is time to once again publicly shame myself over my notebook hoarding . Nothing fancy (I donated those because they were empty). I need to stop buying notebooks when I see them on sale.
Yes, I have been cleaning my office space. I haven't even looked in the box where I keep my 'new' ones.

I have serious env y when I read these posts. Their dedication to clearing the bicycle paths is something other cities should aspire to
The real-time snow plowing & maintenance map for main bicycle paths in Oulu. Of course you shouldn't even need one, since you can always count on paths being maintained anyway, but it's still a nice little thing to have 👌

I know that it is essential to eat as many vegetables as possible, but I draw the line at the kale leaf that was floating in my morning coffee. Kale does not belong in coffee.
To be fair, the kale leaf probably didn't want to be in the coffee. It probably fell off my hand (lunch prep).

Yesterday the internet was stupid & I missed surprise songs merch because Canadian addresses wouldn't work in the CA store. However, tonight I saw that the TTPD Snowglobe was available! Missed it last year & regretted it. It is mine (or will be soon) along with the cleaning cart ornament!

One short video from Spatial Pull by Mile Zero Dance at City Hall today. My friend Theresa (my massage therapist) is the one closest to the bottom. This is not slow motion - they moved very slowly down the stairs. It took Theresa 34 minutes to be in her final position. Great performance by all

I think we were supposed to ignore the large overlap between UCP donors & Better Edmonton voters. And, of course, there was the 'oh look, more out of touch middle-aged white men who want to go back to the good old days' factor (for me).
"I also think the party really missed just how much resentment exists in Edmonton toward the UCP government. ...

"Unfair or not, I think voters were left wondering if Better Edmonton could sufficiently offer strategic resistance to the province."
