Beautiful day on White Horse Hill yesterday. Lots of red kites and buzzards overhead. Liked this stone chat trying to escape my camera #birds

Having fun making little bats for our welcome week yarn bombing project. One on the right was my prototype. I think the one on the left is better anatomically #bats #crochet

Enjoyed visiting #CalkeAbbey over the weekend. Great walk through the deer park with volunteer Andrew. Thank you @nationaltrust.org.uk

Great to see goldfinches feeding on the seeds of wildflower patch we planted in our garden this year. I've seen them on lavender before but I think these were on cornflowers. Taken from the kitchen window so full grainy zoom #birds #gardens #RDGUK

Could this be a golden eagle? It had an altercation with a bald eagle by Medicine Lake, near Jasper, Alberta, Ca. We think the band eagle stoke a fish from the other bird #birds #eagles #rockies

What an amazing bird to find perching at the bottom of your small urban garden! We get them overhead all the time but have not had one landed before. Red kite reintroduction has been a real success in Southern UK. Taken through an upstairs window #birds #redkite #Milvus #RdgUK

So impressed with my library colleagues who baked and consumed cake so we can twin a toilet and contribute to the UN SDGs. Our goal was 1 loo but it looks as if we'll be able to fund 3.

Beautiful day for a 14km walk with some great birds on the way. First time I've seen a great white egret #birds #wollabank @lincsbirding.bsky.social

Lovely morning for a #Parkrun at #FerryMeadows near #Peterborough. Friendly volunteers and a nice course. Surprisingly, I was first in my age category and 80th woman out of 235 #running

Did my first plasma donation this evening. Easy, painless and I get to keep my red blood cells.

Great photography walk round a local #Earley nature reserve this morning. I enjoyed taking things slowly and playing with my camera. Lots of bird song and a few signs of Spring. #RDGUK #Plants #Nature

Lovely morning for a local litter pick. Disappointing to see so much recyclable stuff chucked in hedges. Area looks much more loved now #RDGUK #Earley #litter ##Litterpick

Relaxing morning at a watercolour workshop. Lots of playing with colours and techniques with cling film, watercolour pencil, wax and salt. Great to do something completely different www.dennywebb.com

That's lovely. Nice colour choices. I'm working on a crochet bag kit that I got for Christmas

Visit to the dentist this morning. After years of complaining, they have finally installed a bike rack! At least it was a staff car so it was safe to leave my bike in this odd position but it shows little thought of how a bike rack actually functions #ChocolateTeapot #cycling #bikes

This knitted sock tutorial is brilliant and simple. I followed the instructions and socks appeared as if by magic. Worth a try if you fancy knitting a pair

Surprised that even #RdgUK has some snow tonight. We usually just get rain. #UKsnow RG6 2/10 @uksnowmap.com @uksnowmap.com

Got a bit of fresh air doing my local #Litterpick. I was out for about 90 mins and collected 2 bags of rubbish, 23 plastic bottles, 24 cans and 6 vapes. One large nitrous oxide cannister. There were at least 4 bins on my route, all nearly empty. #litter #LoveWhereYouLive

Having a break from work has meant I've had time to see some of the birds that visit my bird feeders and some of the more unwelcome visitors. Squirrel has perfected a jump from a nearby compost bin onto the pole. Feeders are spring weighted so he leaves frustrated. #birds
