Feels appropriate that I spent today watching professional women’s hockey. Gone but not forgotten.
35 years ago today, 14 women went to bed thinking about their finals, future in STEM and the upcoming holiday season. They didn’t know that these dreams threatened a man’s sense of self worth and that they wouldn’t survive to see their goals and aspirations become a reality

Luckily I was raised in darkness (as a Canucks fan), so I’m happily walking away from the Goldeneyes game tonight celebrating their first power play goal ☺️ all that practice claiming moral victories is paying off!

The me that used to go to games and hold up a middle finger when people cheered his name is feeling pretty vindicated right about now. He was always trash, and people let his skill blind them. And the cycle is repeating right now for anyone still cheering for the Canucks.

A less obvious perk of switching my fandom to hockey instead of men’s hockey (i said what i said) is i haven’t had to listen to elliotte or luke in AGES and frankly it has been incredibly beneficial to my overall mental health

The hidden horror that no one mentions about being a band/orchestra nerd is that you will be incapable of listening to songs without singing your part for an unnecessary amount of time after you no longer spend 71% of your waking hours in an orchestra pit.
