This was the Salem Willows pier Friday evening. The next morning it was empty of people but bits of fishing line of varying lengths were strewn everywhere. People come to fish, to enjoy the ocean’s bounty, yet they have no appreciation or gratitude for its gifts. Absolutely shameful. #dobetter

The school year is almost over, and my summer season has returned. The new pier in Salem, MA is gorgeous. I felt a swell of gratitude for simply existing as I stood at the end of it today and gazed out at the ocean. So beautiful.

I built my very first microphone from (almost) scratch & after multiple rounds of troubleshooting involving no sound (cue some desoldering and re-soldering of wires) and then a ground hum 9cue more desoldering and re-soldering) it works! It stinking WORKS!!

Well, here’s the $18 donor body, but I might send it back because one of the three connecting pins is loose and can move. I don’t know. Is that normal? I feel like I shouldn’t be able to push/pull a connector pin in and out of the mic body? 🤷‍♀️

Shiny new toy! The Bei Fei Li C-414 is my very first xlr mic! Gave her a quick try today (using my zoom H6 as an audio interface. Not intuitive. Need to do some research on best way to set everything up.

Project “Kill the Echo” update. 70% done… maybe. Also, I have learned that Tacky glue takes about an hour to dry (in case you ever need to know). No idea if this is going to work, but I’m having fun.
