On the face of it, this review of a collection of academic writing represents a very learned, intellectual elite perspective. Yet the mounful undertone regarding the end of European intellectual celebration feels very much like posh highbrow MAGA.

Read the story to confirm, but this is 'offensive' only because it shows an obviously Muslim man endorsing the burning of notes. Replace him with a crypto-bro and no one would have batted an eyelid.

A couple of years ago I worked on a story which I really loved.

Unfortunately, the magazine it was written for went defunct and I was never able to share it. Have finally gotten around to doing so now.

My article on a Goan Christmas in Karachi.

The venn diagram for this factoid is like 12 people, but former Super Bowl winning Kansas City wide receiver Kadarius Toney had been making rap songs since he was in school, and one of his songs is called Pakistan...

If you are a journalist in cricket & your work over the last decade hasn't included criticism of everything @osmansamiuddin.bsky.social takes down here, you've been absolutely failing at your job.

And by you, I mean almost every cricket journalist in the world

We've heard it said that the ICC has been reduced to an event management firm, but is it even that now?

Kinda perfect that Aaron Rodgers - a huge GoT fan who appeared as an extra on the show - has had the same arc as Game of Thrones itself.

Both were hugely popular across all demographics for most of their run but then had such disastrous final few seasons that it forever tainted how you viewed them.

All cricket writers & analysts - myself included - always conclude that Pakistan is too unpredictable a team. You can never tell what they're going to do next.

It pains me to reveal that there is in fact a very simple way to know how Pakistan will play.

Is Rambo commentating currently or not?

@jonathanliew.bsky.social wanted to appreciate you for continuing to be political, and progressively so, in your writing. Several of your Guardian Sport colleagues never had good politics, and several others only find their voices when its an Other they get to criticise.

Tempted to give "Bad Leiutenant: Port of Call New Orleans" a go after this.

My personal addition to this list would be "The Fall", which while thematically apt, tragically sells short one of the best movies ever made.

Extremely silly thing I am currently obsessing over is an ad for DHA (🤮) Quetta where the tagline is "Dil toh Quetta hai..."

Shouldn't it be Quetta toa dil hai? What does dil being Quetta mean?

Ke uss pe najaiz qabza hai? Talking about dil only ofc.

one of the most intriguing people rn in sport is mohammad ben sulayem. comes across as extremely old school, extremely touchy and incompetent. but am fascinated by how he’s managed to completely fuck the FIA and F1 while getting away with it. all these people calling him out still untouched.
