Let the adulterers and the money changers rejoice, for in trump they have found their false God. Let the stealers of children be not peaceful in their sleep. Let the separators of families have many cares. Let those that have cursed men for kneeling in silent protest for the lives of their fellow citizens never walk carefree in their privilege. Let those that try to control women by controlling their bodies be smug in their belief. Let those that trample the Constitution, the document the men that founded this country wrote with the blood of patriots on their minds be smug in their disloyalty. Written when the 2 granddaughters we raised were still so small. Even with all they’ve been thru, They’ve grown into kind and wonderful young women.
I watched 2 little girls today I watched them secretly as they played Growing up but still so young So many songs as yet unsung I want to pave the road for them With candy, lace, and pink fur trim I'd keep them small, and hold them tight Keep the bad away with all my might But they haven't lived a carefree life They've known sadness, worry and adult aged strife I cannot change the past they've had We can't unsee the already seen bad But what I know is they are strong Still full of happy, still filled with song So I will do the best I can to guide them with a gentle hand To make sure they're souls will continue to sing, and soar even on a mended wing!
