To make sure these cards are a bit lighthearted and shows more than just buildings and nature, there are cards like this - Parking Lot.

These "joke" cards are a way to joke around and engage in different ways with sights that don't work with places with religious, cultural, & historical importance.

Oh, no! #Kinkakuji is Under Construction!

This card showcases when temples undergo maintenance, which oftentimes last for years.
These roof repairs luckily only took a few months to complete so the #GoldenPavilion was quickly back under normal operations.

Ever wonder what's with the fish on Japanese castles?

The Gold #Shachi trading card kind of answers that for you.
They can be made out of a bunch of different materials and have a tiger for a head. They're also supposed to help defend against fires as sorts of guardians.

#Niigata is Japan's 5th largest prefecture but only 15th in population, so there's a lot of nature to explore.

#YahikoJinja, on today's Kangaku 47 trading card, is nestled within the aforementioned nature, providing a serene, calming experience.

Let's review the Mount Iwaki Trading Card.

Across much of Aomori Prefecture, Mount Iwaki is a fixture on the skyline. It stands off in the distance by itself observing all that happens below. On this card, the mountain is observing cherry blossoms in Hirosaki.

To do it justice, you need minimum two nights (preferably three). A half day out to Miyajima is well worth it as part of that, to see Itsukushima Shrine, as well as a full day to wander around Hiroshima itself, the Peace Park, Museum and Castle.

Had a wonderful time there in April, do recommend!

The Deeper Japan takes a look at a charming #bookstore in #Niigata called Books Daytona (ブックス デイトナ).

Independent bookstores like this are disappearing due to new construction and the switch to digital, so think about visiting one and picking up some books while traveling across Japan.
