I would say that the absurdity of later entries is a pretty natural evolution of what DR1 established, I don't think that balance was ever truly broken outside of maybe V3. DR1's cast is all tropey, there's anime fights, sci-fi technology, I don't think it's unnatural to expand on these things.

There's a shocking amount of fans who clearly want the series to be less anime and that's insane to me. It's like going to Pizza Hut and not liking pizza. Complaining about this is like complaining about Ace Attorney being silly like that's literally the draw of the series 😭

That's very difficult, I'm sure my answer would change just depending on how I feel. I guess I'd probably say Narancia's in Jojo, there's something so tragic about how sudden it is and the reaction from the cast really sells it.

I think it's pretty close, but I'd probably have to say Kyoko. Both are very good but I think Kyoko is just on average better at figuring things out and sleuthing. Both solo Shuichi though

Anime is so integral to Danganronpa's DNA that making Danganronpa realistic is just pointless. It's the same thing as Ace Attorney, when you take away its "animatedness," you take away a lot of its identity.

I do really like Makoto, Kyoko, and Aoi's dynamic in Danganronpa 3 a lot, it shows how much closer they are. I think I like Hajime, Chiaki, and Nagito's dynamic just a smidge more though.

I think they're just trying to place the blame on shippers lol. I have seen a lot of Komahina fans not like DR3 but I think that's moreso because there's a lot of them and they happen to overlap because of that.

I disagree. I feel like later chapters do a better job at balancing their characters, meanwhile earlier chapters feel like none of the characters really get to shine much because they have to balance screen time between 15 people.

Not in my opinion lol. There's three "big ones" and I don't think any of them really do a good job talking about the anime. Though I believe that most should just watch the anime and form their own opinions on it.

I'm aware, I've played the Project Zetsubou translation! It's not perfect, but I do think there's a lot it does better than the official localization. But also just because there's a fan translation that could be seen as better doesn't mean the official one is off the hook.
