El Salvador, Israel, the US. All with authoritarian leaders, all with camps where people are disappeared to, and torture is part of the system.

They are learning from each other, in this and so many other ways.

From this afternoon:
News --> The commander who oversaw Pete Hegseth's alleged killing of two boat bombing survivors is now likely to come in and face questions from the House Armed Services Committee, ranking Dem Adam Smith tells me.

In this piece, I try to make sense of this horror:

Trump Boat Bombings Suddenly on Shakier Ground as Damning Info Emerges
Will Republicans give us a real investigation into Trump’s bombings, now that we just learned horrific new details about them? Or are they seriously going to fall on their swords for Pete Hegseth?

ICE raids are cruel, inhumane, and do nothing to serve public safety.

My responsibility is to be the mayor to each and every person that calls this city their home. That includes millions of immigrants— of which I am one.

Let. Them. Fail.

If students can’t do the bare minimum, they cannot pass the class.

I’ve struggled with this my entire career. I teach collegiate and advanced courses; I know it’s my job to make them do hard things. If they pass my class and can’t do hard things, I failed.

And I don’t fail.
An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

I understand we’re in a teacher shortage, but voting against your best interest and the best interest of the children you’re supposed to educate makes me question the work you do in your classroom…

I’m starting to believe if you’re an educator and you voted for this administration, it’s time to see your way out of the classroom.

the primary thing that TPUSA provides to young conservatives is a blueprint for weaponizing the abject cowardice of university administrators against individual teachers and instructors, and university admins should take a long look in the mirror and think about what that says about them

Commander White is one of the very few people involved in family separation from the inside who acquitted himself well. He raised alarm bells, pushed back, and got ORR to start tracking separations long before DHS did, so that it was possible later to reunite kids and know the scale.

Yeah this is a really crucial point that a lot of Americans, and a lot of Jews, genuinely do not understand: the vast majority of the world understands Palestine to be a colonial issue because it is a colonial issue.
I mean that is what every pm of india from nehru to manmohan singh thought about the issues . Many strongly so .

This is how you end up in the ICC.
On the horrific news that Pete Hegseth ordered the killing of boat bombing survivors, remember: The Trump Murder Memo "authorizing" the strikes preemptively clears those carrying them out. That's unusual. And we still haven't heard from the commander who resigned:
