The idea that every school is somehow obligated to scramble around to raise extra cash from charity for the essential welfare of children is ridiculous. Any responsible society must invest adequately in the education & health of its children. It’s time to rethink & rebalance!

Since July the Curriculum and Assessment Review, led by @beckyfrancis.bsky.social, has been engaged in understanding deeply the current state of what children learn and how this is assessed from KS1-KS5.

Banning knives & limiting their sale will not solve the issue of youth violence. There are a growing number of guns in our cities! The only answer is the development of more caring & supportive communities, investment in youth work and a far more inclusive approach to education!
