Years ago, a friend said, “if you need to fix Kaki, bring her to water.” This is why my self-care is often along the Charles River. #photography

My sister claimed that people and sunsets are more beautiful than photos depict. My sunset from last night disagrees. I’m very fond of it.

I love Venice so much.

This is a simple picture of me wearing a nice ballet flat. But it’s progress. I’ve been dependent on various ankle braces since my fracture on September 20 and I still have days when I need to wear a big slipper over a brace, but I’m wearing these shoes to the ballet on Saturday.

Swans are important to me, so I loved finding them near home en route to church today.

In the foreground, overall comments from my first editor on my debut novel. Just above the edge of that page is a copy of my debut novel. I keep the first edit to remind myself how far it came and how grateful I am to be a published novelist with smart friends. #writing #books

The book is now on kindle and dedicated to her.

Happy place #photography day 29. I love walking along rivers and this is the Merrimack in Nashua, NH.

Happy place #photography Day 28. In 2013, I broke my ankle the night before vacation to Europe. I spent two weeks walking in a brace with a cane. It made me appreciate every place I walked to,
such as the second floor of the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul.

Happy place #photography day 27. I was too busy for a few days, but I’m resuming this. I last gave you birds and today is another bird. My friend and I went to Spain together and the day after my publisher sent me final draft of my swan lake novel for review, I bought this in a pair.

We had knee-high shoe covers and held our suitcases over our heads so we could walk across Santa Croce. The next day, this was near the same place.

When I think of high tide, I think of it being why we waded across part of Venice. I like yours a lot better.

More ducks for you.

Happy place #photography day 26. I moved and my walk to church is along the Charles River. This is one of 13 birds I saw today alone.

Happy place #photography day 25. I have a friend who collects produce labels and I took pictures of these persimmons in Venice. My family nickname is the Japanese word for persimmon. Or what my sister called me when she was 1.

Happy place #photography day 24. There is a road called the Alpine Loop near where I used to live and we would drive up there to keep ourselves sane during the pandemic.

I took this picture over that state in very late November.

Happy place #photography day 23. I volunteer at a local auditorium and one of my favorite things is walking across this canal on the way. Lowell has such beautiful waterways.

Happy place #photography day 22. For once, a recent picture. I took tickets and saw The Nutcracker tonight at Lowell memorial auditorium. A little girl came up and said she had a drawing she made for the workers. I said she could meet the dancers and hold on to it until then. “I mean YOU.”

Happy place #photography Day 21. Whenever friends visit me in Boston, they ask about the Freedom Trail. The red brick path is a great way to see the city that I love. And these shoes were partly funded by my brother who recognized my need for shoes that would really last.

Happy place #photography day 20. Whoops for vacation. I just found this picture from my 2015 trip to Spain. I love the altar at the Sagrada Familia and the light shining on it.

Happy place #photography day 19. My brother came to visit me this year and let me pick the seats for the Red Sox game. I loved the action between home and 1st base as much as I loved watching baseball with my nephews.
