Regardless of what is “emotion” vs. “logic”, we are reducing the need for creative and innovate human beings to join the game industry for the sake of automation and cost saving measures. Video games as an art in media is being diminished because it’s now a cash cow for companies to make money.

The N64 probably was my origin console if you count my absolute fanboying over a console I was never able to get. I played it at every persons house, every store, and anywhere else I could get my hands on it. I loved my Dreamcast but the N64 was a console I wish I had as a kid.

While the SNES was my first console, I didn’t really become a gamer until my mom got me a Sega Dreamcast on launch day (9/9/99). I had a SNES for years but never actually “beat” a game. I beat my first game I had for the Dreamcast - Sonic Adventure - multiple times over. That was truly the start.

Sonic Adventure 1 & 2. The multiple perspective story telling, open world gameplay was really good for its time. It might not play as well as I remember but for my childhood, it stands out among the rest.
