I honestly don’t know why people seem to have a default assumption that an extraterrestrial intelligence or AGI would have values compatible with most of humanity or not find us extremely offensive. Humanity’s behavior with itself suggests the exact opposite.

IMHO, all of this is so vague and poorly written as to basically give free reign to the interpretation to whatever Trump officials want. It’s just littered with nonsense like: “Title IX, as interpreted by the Department of Education”.

I think it's also useful to make it clear to a lot of older folks what this means. Showing them photos like Jacqueline Kennedy or Eisenhower in the East Wing and make them question if this is okay.

I think anyone who has a modicum of awareness realizes that AI is not useless, but what is being touted as AI right now is absolutely useless.

What happens if these tools do not have sustainable business models? What happens if Anthropic doesn't have a path forward in the end?
I don't think there should be a debate about these models having utility, but perhaps if we are going to depend on them, are they going to be around?
