Immediately after the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, the Lloyds of London underwriter and syndicate head, Cuthbert E. Heath, cabled his agents in San Francisco, "Pay all our policyholders in full, irrespective of the terms of their policies." Our nation's insurers should follow his lead in LA.
