So as I’m likely to be more active on here regarding EVs I thought I’d share a bit of my background and EV story.
I’ve been a Powertrain design & development Engineer for several decades, having worked on all sizes & types of ICE, from small passenger car up to huge marine engines (1/13)

Case came to supreme court after court of appeal determined the term ‘open-air recreation’ included camping
Wild camping will be allowed on Dartmoor after the supreme court ruled that a multimillionaire landowner was wrong to ban it on his land.
Dartmoor was – until the legal action – the only place in England where wild camping without the permission of the landowner was enshrined in law. In Scotland, people have enjoyed this right since 2003. Continue reading...

Simple thing we can do in UK to tell the Big Orange to FO: don’t buy US wine. Wine from USA is the largest Agricultural export to UK, 15% of total. With roughly 25million UK wine drinkers, that’s ~ $10 each a year, so not much each. Tonight I’m on a nice Bordeaux instead. Small change, big impact.

Could the argument over what type of hybrid should be allowed from 2030 (MHEV / HEV / PHEV), and the relative benefits of each, be overcome by simply linking the ICE emissions to required battery-only range - 100g/km = 100miles, 120g/km = 120miles, etc. Ignore whether it has a plug or not and… [1/2]

Seems I’m a bit behind the curve here (busy year…) but just caught up with the excellent lnk.to/GhostInTheMachine podcast about motor-doping in cycling. Really good investigative work from @chrissymbell.bsky.social If you are even slightly interested in sport cycling then well worth a listen! 🚴♂️

Seems I’m a bit behind the curve here (busy year…) but just caught up with the excellent lnk.to/GhostInTheMachine podcast about motor-doping in cycling. Really good investigative work from @chrissymbell.bsky.social If you are even slightly interested in sport cycling then well worth a listen! 🚴♂️
