This is appalling! It's anti-democratic, it's deceitful, it's massively hypocritical.

The Brethren should be ashamed & embarrassed abt calling themselves Christians after this. Both their senior leaders & their members who are campaigning undercover.

Exclusive Brethren are secretly campaigning for Coalition
The Plymouth Brethren Christian Church don’t vote but are sending hundreds of their people to hand out how-to-vote cards.

Can we just spare a thought, too, for the official end of News Corp as a political force. No one outside an aging political class pays any attention to them.

I think watching Tim Wilson lose on election night, then thinking he’s won and floating leadership ambitions, to losing again by a handful of votes could triumph the sheer joy of watching Dutton losing Dickson.

Down to 400 votes now! Cmon Zoe.
The gap in Bradfield is currently 80 votes. There appear to still be 10,000 votes left to count.

The gap in Goldstein is currently 657 votes. There appear to still be around 11,000 votes still to count.

It's unclear in both cases how many people chose not to show up at all.

Saying that Trump is the most corrupt President in the history of the United States really does seem like a ridiculous understatement. It feels closer to the truth to say that Trump is more corrupt than every other President in history combined.

Skip this ‘forlorn’ Blue Mountains town? You’ll be missing out
Poor old Katoomba has seen better days, but to suggest it be bypassed en route to other sights in the area does the town a major disservice.

The ABC and SBS are still the most trusted news source in Australia. ABC’s recent election night coverage broke viewership records. Young audiences get news from social media. Australian news has been facing digital disruption for decades. #auspol #media
In the age of the influencer, does the political backing of News Corp matter anymore?
This year’s federal election demonstrated that Australia’s media landscape has changed. Big players are no longer “kingmakers” in politics.

I argue that there is much Labor can do without breaching its election commitments, as well as setting the stage for a third term.

It was definitely the obstructionism tactics used by the Greens, and the CMFEU stunt. I don’t think it was their stance on Gaza so much

Yeah, its like they can’t actually understand cause and effect. They hated the Dems so much that they were completely blind to what would happen if they put a dumb as mud Christofascist puppet in the WH? Now they have guys in black vans grabbing people off the streets, and they look shocked. WTAF? 🤣

The Greens will ask these questions when the dust settles and the shock of the loss subsides.

The massive drop in primary votes for Max Chandler-Mather strongly suggests that 2022 Greens voters simply didn’t come back in 2025. #auspol

Not so happy to see Adam Bandt lose his. I thought him a decent leader of the Greens

What went wrong in Melbourne?? this is one part of the election results I haven't got round to figuring out.

First the impossible, then broken promises, emperor complex and ultimately, the constant obstruction cost Bandt and Greens dearly.

He was warned about being so adversarial for years. The lack of negotiation skills and arrogance - demonstrated even in preferences - proved his downfall.

Not sad.

We moved to the Melbourne electorate in 2006. My wife has voted for Bandt in every election, since '07. This time she "reluctantly" voted for Labor, frustrated at the blocking of legislation & a sidelining of environmental issues.
Watching him on 730 last night she sighed "He hasn't learnt"
