Between work & life being busier lately than I’d like I’ve slowed a tad on reading but I just finished Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid and good lord. I am genuinely in awe at this one. The last 20 pages about demolished me & then the last page just.. wow. Maybe my favorite book this year. #booksky

I know there are so many other deeply fucked things in the world but these ticketing queues are so obnoxious. We’ve all just accepted that we have to stare at these screens to maybe get to enter for a chance at maybe buying tickets to things like the World Cup! Well done boys, good process. 🥴🤡

Fuuuuuuucking hell I think I’m about to feel my first direct pain of these dumbass tariffs thanks to our dumbass president.. ordered some new merch from the Norwich City shop a couple weeks ago & just got notified I have to pay over $200 for it to clear US customs. Stupidest fucking country.

I used to think I could never live in NYC under any circumstances but the more I visit over the years the less I feel that way. To be sure, it’s far from likely & would certainly require getting lucky with job(s).. but damn I really do love this city.

The timing of starting The Lion Women of Tehran last week was totally accidental (it’s been on my library hold list for a bit), but I’m very glad I read it now. I found it to be a beautiful & moving story of friendship (& much more); the complexity of Iran’s history is weaved in so well. #booksky

Finished The Butcher’s Daughter this week, def enjoyed it. Few thoughts:
- Epistolary is a new term & concept to me, so it did take me a bit to get into it
- Don’t go in expecting the story to line up directly with Sweeney Todd
- The end felt a bit forced until I researched a bit more.. 🧐

Finished The Butcher’s Daughter this week, def enjoyed it. Few thoughts:
- Epistolary is a new term & concept to me, so it did take me a bit to get into it
- Don’t go in expecting the story to line up directly with Sweeney Todd

I breezed through my 1st two Kate Quinn books over 12 days & thoroughly enjoyed them both. The Rose Code took me a fair bit longer to really hit a groove with but once I did I flew through the rest. I might favor The Alice Network ever so slightly but would rec both for historical fiction. #booksky
