I got the 1st book for Christmas at around 10 (so 2005) and loved it. The later books were not available in Norwegian, so I got them in English, which was too hard for a 10 year old non-native speaker, and I gave up around the Barthanes party. The books were standing in the shelf until Covid.

I love it! It just dawned on me that after 8 years I still haven’t seen a single german WOT book in any book store. I guess the cover in itself will be worth it if I find one.

I think the enjoyment depends on the reader. For advanced fantasy readers used to a lot of world and character building it’s no problem. For myself CoT is dreadful and I have to mention that. On the other hand WH is one of my favorites, so I can still say with confidence that the slog is overrated.
