If members of the United States military are truly being paid their salaries by a private individual, the American people should know who that individual is. Now.

34 people killed in 50 days. Their guilt or innocence unknown, for an alleged crime that doesn't carry a death sentence. That's a lot of death.

Once again, where is the CNO? SECNAV? After what just happened in Quantico, when will the military top brass speak up?
I asked this after the disgrace at Ft. Bragg, too.

One of the greats has passed. Robert Redford was a celebrated actor, director, and someone who held a mirror up to America. His work will live on, but we Ordinary People will feel The Sting of his loss for years. Rest among the stars now, and when you see heaven, may a River Run Through It.

There is no excuse for political violence in America. And no excuse for a U.S. president using a heinous killing as an occasion to treat his political opponents as accomplices to murder and threatening to use the full power of the government to attack them.

The U.S. government has become a neofascist regime run by a sociopath.

Keeping it funded now is to participate in the most atrocious abuse of power in U.S. history.

So I for one have decided that the best route is to shut the whole thing down.

1/ I worked at DoD. I literally cannot imagine lawyers coming up with a legal basis for lethal strike of suspected Venezuelan drug boat.

Hard to see how this would not be "murder" or war crime under international law that DoD considers applicable.

The real definition of "apolitical" to military brass is often 'what will keep me from being fired'
In photo @rpg-volley.bsky.social posted, Elon Musk is at West Point where he gave a lecture to the whole class of cadets in August 2024, long after he started disparaging Biden and after he was appearing on stage with candidate Trump. But that was apolitical since Biden didn't fire generals for it

My take is that senior officers are completely unprepared for this moment.

When demo is healthy, there is little tension btw adhering to civilian control & serving democracy

Faced w/ the manifest clash in principles these missions present, they are doing what's familiar--following orders.1/
What's a MAJ supposed to do when they watch GOFOs and COLs do nothing and say nothing about what went down with LA, the parade, Bragg, and criticism of MoH recipients?

There's no top cover, no leadership, no hard convos. Just abdication and servility from the top creating difficulties on down.
