My friend Jillian Kuhlmann died in July. At her memorial service, both of her sisters made a point to tell me about this poem she wrote earlier this year. For me. About city government. What a thing to write a poem about. What a thing.

I saw a post earlier about lettuce, guacamole, bacon, and tomato sandwiches and had the clever idea to add queso. That's right: I made LGBTQ sandwiches. I'm probably too pleased with myself.

This isn't an advertisement for Schär gluten-free sourdough bread, but it could be.

When Astro was a tiny puppy, a lady gave him a treat on these stairs. That was over two years ago, and he still insists on climbing the stairs to the Friends Meeting House, in case a Quaker wants to give him a cookie.
