Basically, yes. When do you e.g. take Ibou off for an attacker (which has been Slot’s go to) is the difficult decision. Vs PSV, he did it at 1-3, even though ironically it was Ibou’s fault that they scored the 3rd goal. But it likely was coming even if the result had stayed at 1-2.

It doesn’t matter what happened in other seasons. Klopp had 7 draws and 1 loss. Pep had 2 draws and 4 losses. Look at some of those 7 draws, Klopp just settled. Especially in the derbies. You cannot do that when you try to win a title. You can ask Arteta last season about it too.

I loved Klopp, mind you. Loved his man management. I just wish he was more ruthless in some games, especially in derbies.

Unfortunately Pep was the braver manager that season. Always bugged me when Klopp would talk about how a point in a derby against shitty Mancs or Everton was good. Those are the games where he had to be braver. Same happened to Rafa in 08/09. Settled for draws way too often.

we definitely suffered bad calls. but it was also a fact that Pep was bolder and went for wins even if it meant he lost a few more games. the extra wins made all the difference. this is not me belittling or criticizing Klopp, this is me saying Klopp settled for draws in those two seasons.

In 18/19 season, Liverpool lost 1 game, Man City lost 4. Liverpool drew 7 games, Man City drew 2. If Klopp had drawn 2 fewer games, but won 1 and lost 1, he’d have finished with 99 points and won it. fortune favors the brave.

Oh I also enjoyed them. I’m just pointing out why Klopp did not win the title in those seasons.
