It sounds like a form of Stockholm syndrome to me, sadly. Diane has been treated terribly by Labour (indeed they are reportedly seeking a successor for her seat before the inquiry has even finished) and yet she defends them. Yes, it's a risk under FPTP but "business as usual" isn't working either.
