The audacity to try has allowed me to wrestle, review, tour, perform, write & create for a living. Mostly game, lift, and hang w/partner & cat in free time. 日本語でも
Says “Kirin Beer, number one in Japan, please.”

Called The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity, it played in several markets. Characters based a bit on the Rock, Chavo and Vince.
I loved the script and we had some very talented actors (and also me).

Imagine paying to see that guy.
Like paying to eat soap.

In some pics, Corbin reminds me of Pete Huge.

I am Dialogue Lead on a triple-A game.
That would be tough to live down - the amount of ears that file had to pass through to make it to ship…

How were Gibson and Morton as singles? I’ve never seen much of their singles stuff.

Beat Painted Love, so Simon’s the last one left.
It’s amazing that I keep finding new, large areas to explore.

Red Faction was maybe the first (and weakest) volley in a massive 2001 for PS2: GTA 3, DMC, Tony 3, NBA Street, FF X, MGS2, ICO…

Going right there would have been better, IMO.
Simon and Trial 11, part 3 are my last 2 obvious things to check off.

What did you get at launch, out of curiosity?
Red Faction was maybe the first PS2 game where I was like, “Oh!”
October 27, 2025 at 2:54 PM
True. 3 DMCs, 3 NBA Streets, 4.5 Tony Hawks, 4 R&Cs…
Then the weird improved rereleases - often for cheap: SSX Tricky, VF5, MGS3 Subsistence.

I’m quite critical of the negative effect HD-era gaming had on budgets and schedules. It’s no coincidence gaming has never achieved the same success - quick yet quality sequels, experimental/quirky stuff, etc. - as PS2.
And I say that as a dev myself now.

Heh, it’s not quite No Mercy or VOw2 - both of which I still have. But it’s better than anything on PS1, SNES, Genesis…

Soulcalibur, NBA/NFL 2K, Crazy Taxi, Power Stone 1/2, and a bunch of shmups and 2D fighting games was good eating at the time. As a journalist, I played it all.
PS2 has some janky action RPGs and forgettable driving games. And third-rate rhythm games in Japan.
But PS2 became the best console ever.

The first wrestling show I was ever booked on, a buddy came and had his N64 (4 controllers) and WCW/nWo Revenge in his hotel room. Bought it myself soon afterward.

The launch lineups in both Japan and US are easily visible and unquestionably horrible. I was a journalist at the time. There was little reason to adopt that first year - especially if you already had a Dreamcast.

Like, they break the rules here and then leave it for someone else to deal with - whether it’s not putting weights away, leaving “do not open” doors wide open when they leave or just throwing literal fucking garbage anywhere they want.
Real talk: I regret leaving Japan every single day.

With absolute financial freedom comes absolute lack of loyalty/obligation.
Also, first I heard of this show.
