Between the sophomoric sex jokes and lispy affects, I actually think the arc has something real to say about navigating relationship dynamics. And considering how same-sex relationships can so often be fraught with toxic elements, I think there’s something genuinely resonant there.

But I sincerely love Satan’s character arc, which starts with him stuck in an emotionally abusive relationship and ends with him realizing he deserves much better than his terrible boyfriend.

That’s not to say it’s “good representation” in film; it obviously isn’t, and the comedic priemise comes from a time when for many the worst insult you could lov at straight men is to call them gay.
