Chez Anna has a new resident, and now that he's been here a week I think it's OK to introduce him (as he gets along with everyone now)

This is Mr. Erik T Fluffinstuff - he is a red mitted ragdoll, and is Aster's nephew (his mom is her half sister).

He is an absolute doll. #kitten #cat

Every recipe is on two pages, and laid out like this. There are pictures of the steps, and it's broken down by "things you should do at roughly the same time, in this order".

I will occasionally fill something out with potatoes/noodles/rice/steamed veg for my kids, but that's it.

Made a dinner I'm proud of tonight. Roast salmon, rice, and veggies (radish, cucumber, avocado, green onion) with a very light miso dressing.

Last night's dinner was a chicken molé with cilantro lime rice and beans. I loved it, Husbot thought it was pretty good. Oldest kid inhaled a pile of rice and beans with sauce. Younger two kids ate ramen (rule in my house is "try everything" but nobody has to eat food they don't like)

Husbot and I took a short weekend trip to a nearby town to just be... not at home. We spent most of it resting and eating way too much amazing food.

When we got home, Todd and Carrie immediately let me know that I was not allowed to leave the house for the foreseeable future. Synchronized Cuddles.

Aster is a hard-working kitten, especially on a Monday. She has so many things on her to do list, so to start the week she is lounging under the quilt rack.

I cooked chicken Katsu on Sunday. Last night I roasted pork chops with coriander and paprika on a bed of carrots and potatoes for a nifty sheet-pan dinner. (See photos)

Tonight I'm attempting a Molé inspired chicken with rice and beans!

A photo of an oven - on the middle rack is a sheet pan with six bone-in pork chops, generously seasoned. Under the pork chops, barely peeking out, are long planks of carrots and thick potato slices.

Beyond pictures of cats, the other thing I take lots of pictures of is food. I love to cook, and I'm cooking for 5 adults, 7 days a week

It's generally serviceable meals that my neurospicy family will eat, but I do try to make it pretty

Anyway. Tonight's dinner is Chicken Katsu with cabbage slaw

Jail for Aster??!?!?

(She does this willingly - the crate has murder holes and she enjoys playing in it)
