“Ha ha, very funny!” His voice rasps in the still silence, and he clears his throat. It does little good to lubricate his throat and his tongue feels like carpet. “You’ve had your fun! Now, if I could get some water and out of these binds…” No response. He waits, his headache a cruel metronome in counting the passing seconds to minutes. Fear creeps in time to the sudden slow footsteps that sound outside. Shen Yuan squints in the dim light, unable to make out just how far the door is nor what material the door is made of. He then realizes that his glasses aren’t on his face. Panic immediately sets in as he realizes /everything/ is blurry and he can’t quite make out the rest of his surroundings apart from the tough looking door. Shen Yuan’s heart thuds in his chest and his throat aches as he swallows. The helplessness of the situation slams into him and his breaths grow shorter and shorter. Though he’s never hyperventilated before, he knows that’s what’s happening to him at this moment. Darkness starts to creep at the edges of his vision. Suddenly, there’s the sound of locks unlatching. Heavy metal grates against the hard floor and Shen Yuan winces before flailing about as best he can. /I’m going to be killed! Or worse, I’m going to be sold off in one of those Omega rings…!/ Shen Yuan can smell his fear, acrid and heavy as the sound of footsteps get louder and closer. Despite his fears, when the footsteps stop, Shen Yuan tries to look up at who his captor is. He’s not expecting to lay eyes on the most beautiful man he’s ever seen.

So, he grabbed the hold of the sword and did just that, not caring if the glare hit and killed one of the demons below. /If they die, they were too weak, anyhow/. The feeling of heaviness started to alleviate, but another sharp stab at his other temple made him grit his teeth. Luo Binghe would curse his human blood, but it was the only thing that connected him to the one person that truly had meant anything to him. "Is something the matter?" Mobei-Jun, his second in command, asked from beside him. Luo Binghe didn't know when he got there, which shook him a bit because he always could sense when other approached him. He looked down at the sword in his hands, but it was back to emitting a dull thrum. "No," Luo Binghe replied, straightening his back. "Where's Hualing?" Mobei-Jun managed to roll his eyes void of emotion. "She's reprimanding one of your human wives about demon etiquette."

Since when do characters from those novels my sister likes to read exist?! The man is what the word attractive was created for; perfectly thick eyebrows, sharp–but not too sharp–cheekbones, thick lips, and dark, hypnotic eyes that also somehow sparkle. Shen Yuan just knows a heartbroken girls have written about this man in their diaries as a poem or song. He wears robes as well, though unlike the man from before, Shen Yuan's captors' are as pitch black as the car from earlier. Even though the material isn't form fitting, Shen Yuan can make out muscular arms and firm thighs (what?! Men are physical creatures, blame chemistry!). Shen Yuan doesn't realize he's staring until the man's face suddenly darkens. “I don't like being toyed with... Shen Yuan.”

This evening, Yue Qingyuan's finally taken Shen Jiu's invitation to his private chambers. Shen Jiu's ruse was finding a rare print on alpha psychology, a topic that greatly interests Yue Qingyuan. Of course, Shen Jiu isn't one to lie when it comes to books so he really does have the tome he lured Yue Qingyuan here with, which Yue Qingyuan immediately seeks out once their formal greetings end. The alpha didn't even notice that all Shen Jiu wears are his inner robes. If any other alpha dared to play with Shen Jiu this way, they'd be sent for hard labor in the mines or if he's in a bad mood, castrated. But, when those impulses try to engulf Yue Qingyuan… Shen Jiu is unable to carry them out and all he can do is sigh. On what must be his thirtieth sigh, Yue Qingyuan seems to finally hear Shen Jiu's displeasure. The alpha has the decency to blush as he hurriedly shuts the tome. "Ah, Empress Qingqiu, you'll have to forgive this one for being distracted… Allow me to make it up to you?"

Shen Qingqiu sighs and looks down at the check book he's supposed to be balancing. You know, instead of lamenting days past. Not that the book has much to balance. Shen Qingqiu shuts the book and shoves it to the side for the moment in favor for pulling up his favorite novel website. Every Tuesday around lunch time a new chapter of his favorite series updates. It's written by someone with the alias Shang Qinghua that has a laundry list of novels on the site. This one however, is their most popular. It details the life of a retired warrior who gets enlisted in helping a family find their missing family member. On the surface, it's not something that Shen Qingqiu would spend his time reading; however, on a particularly slow day, ahem, he decided 'What the hell?' and downloaded the first few free chapters. He hadn't expected to be thrust into the mind of someone so complex as a character, nor how effective Shang Qinghua's writing style would be in drawing a reader in. Even if… Well, even if there's aspects of the novel that are a little much. For example, the amount of one-night stands the main character has in the midst of his investigation is stomach churning to say in the least. Anyone that slept around that much without wrapping it up would catch something by book three, thank you very much. Yet, Shen Qingqiu's pressing 'purchase' for the sixtieth chapter of book seven.

The hooded figure reveals their face with a flourish and Luo Binghe's entire being freezes up. He's never seen someone so wickedly beautiful. Their hair is long and glossy, with half of it tied into a topknot, matching the 'traditional' vibe the robes give off. Sharp eyes search the crowd and thin lips smirk as they take in the mass of people with their heads turned toward them. A pole drops from the ceiling and with no prompting, the…dancer wraps a now exposed leg around the metal. The small crowed at the bottom of the stage hoots and hollers, throwing their money easily. The dancer arches their back and continues to move their leg up and down to the beat of the music. The humans go crazier and throw even more of their money. Luo Binghe's newfound human emotions swirl inside him. He recognizes some of them, having experienced them the past week he's gotten used to this human vessel: shock, confusion, and sadness. But the other, larger feelings, he doesn't recognize at all, and that lack of knowledge brings the glass to his lips, allowing him to drink the rest of its contents in one go. On stage, the dancer wraps their other leg around the pole, somehow able to hold themselves up. Luo Binghe's awe is short lived as he notices them. The tattered remains of wings. His blood freezes.

Luo Binghe growls again, the arousal transforming to aggression. His omega is within reach, yet /beta's/ hold him. He struggles against his captors once more, finding that his wrists have been bound. Not only that, they've been bound to his ankles. The strange angle only adds fuel to Luo Binghe's fire and he yowls his displeasure. “Get it out of here,” Shen Jiu demands, grabbing the discarded muzzle. He stumbles to his feet and places it over Luo Binghe's face. Once secured, Shen Jiu finally addresses the elephant in the room. “This Laoshi /does/ remember,” Shen Jiu says, reaching for his folding fan. “How could I forget the people that helped this esteemed one rise to his deserved station?”

Bakugō Katsuki loves spicy food. The burn on his tongue, how his whole being comes alive for those blissful few minutes. Was it too much to ask for that feeling all the time? And sure yeah, he’s not the most romantic guy out there but he’s seen enough of those terrible rom-coms with his hag of a mother to know that dating someone should be exciting. His blood should boil and his thoughts should only be about consuming more. Yet, he’s been stuck with fucking Deku. Like a bad cold, the other young man is hard to shake. It doesn’t help that their mothers are best friends and have forced them together since they were babies. He’d only said yes to this date because he wouldn’t hear the end of it from his witch mother, but regret sets heavily on his shoulders when Deku shows up to his door fifteen minutes early, wearing a full on suit, and holding a rather large bouquet of flowers. Annoyance rattles in Katsuki’s ribcage. If he were someone else, maybe this display would do something for him. Make him soften. Instead, he hardens and practically slams the door shut off its hinges. Deku looks startled, but the awkward smile doesn’t leave his thin lips. Katsuki considers swatting the flowers out of Deku’s hands but just barely manages to hold himself back. No doubt his behavior will get back to his mom, and he’s planning on asking her for a favor after this ordeal. “Let’s get this over with, Deku,” he says aloud, snatching the flowers away from Deku. He places them on his porch. “Lead the way.” Deku’s mouth opens and closes a few times before he offers a shy smile. “Thank you again for saying yes Kacchan; you have no idea how happy I was when you sent me that text! I ran downstairs and had to tell mom right–“ “If we don’t get going in sixty seconds, I’m walking back inside my apartment.”

I had so much fun in reading this! ^^ Since summer vacation is almost over, new chapters of most of the fanfics I follow are coming out more late than usual. I started to reading fanfics this summer, I read so many of them most of them are unfinished and abounded like pups T-T. So I am scared that my fic authors might leave their masterpieces T-T. That's why I am really glad you published the new chapter of this! Thank you thank you thank you ☺️💕 I know writing is quite hard, I am trying to write some fics too (to improve my English) and it's really hard. You can get burnout or confused about the story. Or you can think another idea of fic and don't want to continue your other fics. It's same as painting. Its tiring but beautiful at the same time. And you wrote whole 8 chapters! So cool! 😍 I really look forward to read what you will write! I am sure it will came out gorgeous. This fic didn't bored me a bit and I don't often find fanfics like this! It's so exciting!! 🤩 I really wonder how it will turn out to be that's why I will be here always. I will wait patiently for new exciting chapter! ☺️ If you ever feel burnout or tired don't forget to take a break. Your health matters most! I really like how the story is going.
