Exploring new trails on my run this morning. A bit damp.
A wet muddy path through a wood. A carved wooden duck sat on some grass. A ford of rapidly flowing water crossing a woodland trail. Uh, oh. Can't go under it Can't go round it Have to go through it..... Oh, joy, I've just seen a bridge to the right Can go over it!

Well that was good.
My best time - by nearly 7 minutes - at Alton Towers half.
And @hlouphoto completed her first 5k too.
We celebrated by going round and upside down quickly!

Quite pleased with my 10 miles this morning. Quiet alongside the canal, several runners out on other parts of the route.

Out for 10k earlier. Definitely an autumnal feel to the morning.
On a different note - I saw this giant inflatable thing atop a building in Nottingham yesterday. Not a static one, it was waving about!

Out at dark o'clock for the start of my HM distance run this morning. I don't think I disturbed the ducks! A bit overcast but still and just right for a run.
Day is just breaking over the lake. A little grey light reflects on the water. The trees and ducks are just shadows. Looking along the canal from a lock. In the foreground is the lock gate lever. It is signed "Swarkestone Lock No5". In the distance boats are moored. It is an overcast day.

We took the dogs for a walk around the lake this afternoon. Wildfowl in abundance. Dogs unfazed by them, although tiny Cherry did have "words" with a goose! The goose seemed to understand and took things no further.
A great number of geese, swans, and ducks at the edge of the lake. The trees behind are lovely in their autumnal colours.

Meet Jeff (Geoff?)
After some upheaval in his life, this 10 year old boy has found a home with us. A bit shy at first, he's getting used to us and our other 3 dogs.

A fascinating and entertaining couple of hours with Tim Peake.
Some history of space travel interspersed with some personal anecdotes. Great to see film of Apollo missions on a big screen rather than TV.

Our first visit to Glasgow. Loved the huge murals on some of the buildings. Here's a couple of examples...
