The #taxPayersFederation wants to know how I feel about #IndustrialCarbonTax. Here's my reply, a.k.a why I say NO to #pp "carney tax" rhetoric.

(NB I'm not an economist or climate expert so, feel free to counterpoint, w reputable sources)
The EU will soon tariff carbon-heavy imports from countries without carbon pricing. We need strong EU trade ties to avoid relying on the unstable US economy. Climate change matters. Carbon pricing could cut 80M tonnes of emissions/year by 2030 — key to hitting our targets. Is there a better plan? 70% of oilsands profits go to foreign owners. I care about Canadians, not foreign exploitation. Alberta needs long-term investment, not short-term oil gains. I support tax cuts — but not at the cost of our future, our environment, or Canadian livelihoods.
