We both have been working non-stop lately, so it’s especially nice to take some much-needed time away. Off to celebrate Patrick’s mom’s 70th birthday in Jamaica! 🎉❤️🥰

Other photo of our babies/obstructionists trying to tag along. 🤣

I can’t tell you how proud I feel. Our team, Whoosh, WON the Gay Softball World Series in Houston, beating out 57 other top teams from all over US and Canada!

We worked so hard. I tore my ligament playing a couple of years ago & it took a lot to work my way back here. Love this group so very much.

I’ve been sick for a few days, but I followed through with playing in a little tennis tournament in our community this morning. I pushed through not feeling well and won! 🥇🎾❤️
Felt so good! And now back in bed. 🛌

Here are some fun pics I love from the exhibition opening, including one of me, my partner Patrick, & Tawny (Zorita’s daughter). And yes, I wore a crop top to the opening. I thought: Zorita would have loved that. 😂🥰

My new exhibition, “Zorita’s World,” closes at the Galleria Mall in Fort Lauderdale this Sunday. It’s always sad when an exhibition you worked so hard on comes down. But I’m working on new ways to tell the story of this iconic woman, a lesbian burlesque dancer who made waves for decades. 🐍 💃🏻

Join Robert Fieseler & me tonight at my childhood bookstore: Books & Books!

We will be in conversation about his important new book, American Scare, which tells the story of the notorious Johns Committee in the 1950s and 60s.

We hiked to the top of Mount Washburn (Wyoming). It took over four hours and we traversed rain, sleet, snow, and strong winds. But we made it!

Thanks to Patrick for calming me down when I got scared, which happened a few times (mayyyyybe). ❤️🥰

Yesterday I had an amazing conversation with Rita Mae Brown, following an event hosted by Stonewall National Museum, Archives, & Library. We discussed her time & activism at UF, which overlapped with both racial integration & the Johns Committee—before Lavender Menace, Furies, or Rubyfruit Jungle.

Could only play one game 🥎 today, but it felt so good to play on this beautiful Sunday. Headed back to the #MiamiOpen 🎾 now with my love. We’ve been there for the last several days; it’s always my favorite time in the spring.

I went 3-3 today, too! ❤️

Also: the footnote for citation 10 is noticeably absent in the letter. I wonder what source they hoped to cite there…
