Another spectacular day for a @foodartnaturens First Impressions: Printing with Natural Materials experience.

Visitors from Ontario, the UK, and a Dutch transplant (via BC), wandered the orchard and field collecting plants, and spent some time in the studio adding colour, and creating prints.

Sydney Lancaster works in ways that expose gaps in understanding: what’s left unsaid; in-between states & places. Employing a variety of materials & media, including cyanotype, gel transfer, sound, sculpture. Approaching ideas from many vantage points, & seeing what conversations occur over time.

Bonnie Baker works at drawing and printmaking. She grew up in farmlands of Ontario at a time when big tobacco was at its peak. The rapidly changing social, economic, environmental landscape of her rural community made an impression on her and her work continues to reference the rural experience.

Sheri Hancock is a skilled printmaker and teacher and for eighteen years managed the Two Rivers Printmaking Studio in Vermont. Her work can be found in numerous public and private collections. At present she works from her home studio in Wolfville Nova Scotia.

Julie Rosvall Textile Artist & Printmaker with her collaborators, printmakers and visual artists Sheri Jean Hancock, Sydney Lancaster, and Bonnie Baker. Julie takes knitted lace swatches and shawls and prints them on paper, creating large scale imprints of pattern and texture.

Susan Davar Pottery. The focus of Sue's work is to create one of a kind functional ware. She is inspired to create beautiful pieces on which to present food, the offerings that sustain us, whether culinary artworks in and of themselves, or everyday nourishment that still deserves reverence.
