Reposting some art I made in support of Ukraine shortly after the dictator Putin started the full scale invasion of their country. We all know the truth of this aggression. Blue and Yellow - the colors of the Ukrainian Flag, the sunflower, a national symbol. Slava Ukraine!

Had to look those up as I had not heard of them before, and now I love them too! But the ones in my photo are craspedia drumsticks, come in that color, and growing crazily in my planter bed. Nice in dried arrangements as well

Vintage #Kidlit Illustration by Margaret Ely Webb from the 1909 book Old Fashioned Fairy Tales written by Marion Washburne. Details I love: Butterfly child holding a cookie and a doll - kindly old woman giving advice - illustrators initials on the bench - lovely use of spot color

New #crochet project. I love getting to the part past the first three rows, fun to see the pattern emerge and best of all when you understand the pattern well enough to not have to look at every stitch in the 9 repeating rows instructions. Now I can listen to music with lyrics and not lose my place.

Wishing you a Happy Valentine's Day with more vintage #Kidlit. This puppy handed out many valentines cards to his neighborhood, got a nice surprise when he returned home. A Tiny Golden Book from 1949. Happy Valentine by Dorothy Kunhardt, illustrated by Garth Williams. Love his sweet animals!

I'm fascinated by vintage #kidlit . One of my earliest memories: this scene from Mrs. Sheep's Little Lamb. I remember being profoundly worried for this little lamb girl getting lost in a grocery store. One of the Tiny Golden Books by Dorothy Kunhardt, art by Garth Williams, first published in 1949
