Some areas which have not quite reached the Sept ave rainfall may not do so - here's the rainfall accumulation to end of the month from the 12h EC deterministic run on 19th.

No sign rainfall from London towards Cambs, little in parts of Scotland & N.I; this weekend's front dominates!

The Bealach na Ba (Pass of the Cattle) is a great drive - opposite Skye. The AWS on the nearby summit is at 773m. Last night, upland areas were warmed by subsidence inversions - look at that shallow temp curve.

It just gets warmer. Indeed at 8pm it's warmer there than at St. James's Pk, London.

Earlier I checked how the 18UTC temperature at Heathrow compared with the same hour / week in previous years via istheukhotrightnow.com.
No surprise London was holding onto the heat much more than surrounding rural areas.

But look at the displacement of temps in 1976 in contrast to 1974 and 1977!

Well deserved accolade for fmr Swansea Sound weather forecaster John Powell MBE; the award of the @rmets.org Michael Hunt prize at the AGM today.

'John the Weather' also kept climat. records at Penmaen, Gower for 48 years, a valuable (& voluntary) part of the @metoffice.gov.uk observing network.

Questioning my spring rainfall so far (20mm); is it correct? - had to estimate some figures - here are the totals to date from @RoostWeather

Tallies with dry area SW of London-my site at the 'on' of Walton.
Largest area <20mm in SE Norfolk / E Suffolk.
