Did you know that the Ukrainian word for ‘suit’ sounds like the English word ‘costume’? The ones wearing costumes at the White House meeting with Zelenskyy were the two clowns* who attacked him. (*Substitute your own word - the more creative the better.)
And here’s another leader without a suit.

Fresh from my excitement at hearing from Mr Bingley (aka Crispin Bonham-Carter), I’ve written a blog post about smuggling in Jane Austen’s time. There's a link in my blog to free story about Mr Bingley’s imagined brush with smugglers. julialmiller.net/blog/smuggli...

Crime and Prejudice is now available from Orchard Bookshop in Adelaide Arcade. It's described as one of Australia's premier boutique bookstores, and has a wonderful collection of old and new books. It was hard to walk past a first edition of Pride and Prejudice in the display cabinet. One day . . .

I've heard that it's good for authors to share pictures of everyday activities, like baking, so people can relate to them more. I hope there are a few others whose cakes aren't always perfect.
On the plus side, cakes that fall apart yield more broken pieces that I just have to eat myself. 😄

All artists love good reviews!
“[Crime and Prejudice] is an absolute treat! It perfectly captures the wit, charm, and eccentricities of Austen’s characters. The humor is both clever and uproarious, with the characters’ scandals and misunderstandings making for plenty of laugh-out-loud moments.”
