Finding my ancestors, including Patterson, Ridgley, Burnham, Burdett, Leaver, Canavan, Heaney, Ferguson, Kavanagh and ongoing. Also a One Place Study at bledlowoneplacestudy.wordpress.com. Don't expect too much!!
1st gravestone I’ve managed for #31DaysOfGraves Day 12 - Notable Woman. Agatha Christie’s grave in St Mary’s Church Cholsey, Oxfordshire. Not sure about the apple - maybe I could have posted it for Day 10 - Urn 😂

Surprised to see this #owl quite happily sitting in the sun this morning. ‘’Ah this is what it’s like in the daytime’’ not great photo but through binoculars it was absolutely gorgeous just watching the birds. Don’t know if @atcherleyons.bsky.social can help with identifying. Long-Eared Owl?

Not keen on little ‘presents’ left in middle of grass. Did have one and sometimes 2 sleeping on top of overgrown bushes in a garden just to the back of us. Really cute. Was empty and new people have now tidied the bushes. Don’t think they’ll be room for them up there now. Taken from bedroom window

And, yes, I did buy his book! Also went to visit Cholsey Church where patients were buried if not taken for burial by family. Lovely little church. No gravestones for patients but we did find Agatha Christie’s grave 😀 no idea why apple on top but didn’t like to take it off for photo!

Although redeveloped into housing we had a long walk round many buildings still standing. So interesting to relate various additions/improvements with time my gg aunt would have experienced. Ian had ancestors working there so he had many little stories that wouldn’t have been known by researching.

My favourite village in the Lakes, Hawkshead. This gorgeous 15c cottage was converted to a Methodist Church in 1862. The oldest Methodist worship building in the world! Next to the Minstrels Gallery Tea Rooms #LakeDistrict

Absolutely none today with rainy and very windy weather! But we did spot this gorgeous Robin singing away and keeping warm when we braved the weather for a coffee at a garden centre 😊

Another paternal ancestor - great, great grandmother died in this house 1926. She lived here with her daughter, my great, grand aunt, and her family. It had just been sold so I was able to find the details on their website #GenHour #Genealogy #Ancestry

Been sorting the photos from our #Genealogy trip to Cumberland. Nos 40 & 50 Pica Cottages, built for the local coal miners. Paternal great grandparents lived in both - possibly remembered but need to investigate #GenHour #FamilyHistory
