Abstinence wasn't pushed as much back in my day. But we did get the disease slide show which probably had the same effect.

I had a very liberal health instructor in high school. She talked about how women were supposedly responsible for "original sin". (This was 1969, in a predominately Catholic town.) She then showed how to put on a condom, using a banana. Can't say I ever told my parents about that part of the class.

Having been raised in Niagara Falls, I've heard quite a number of insanely dumb questions. It coloured my opinion of Americans, and not in a good way. It's almost as if some people avoid learning anything beyond their backyard.
