Because of this, the most feasible solution is to require a contact email. It's even better if you'd like to add other contact information, but without an email address, the preprint will be rejected.

PsyArXiv moderation is run entirely by volunteers who make decisions on several hundred preprints each week. Even one extra step of clicking through to a website to see if it includes usable contact information would add up to multiple extra hours of these volunteers' time.

Hi Nick, those are valid concerns, and we've certainly experienced the issue with emails not being current when trying to contact authors recently. Unfortunately, neither websites nor ORCIDs necessarily include usable contact information.
