I cleaned up this great fight scene of Link & Ganon's end battle from my 2400dpi scans of the 1986 Bandai boardgame archive.org/details/merc...
I should have the whole set done soon- except the map, which is so much work. I'm going to rely on Alberto's edit that's already in the gallery #zelda

I think about this a lot. A lot of devs (and players, for that matter) in recent years get hung up on some analysis they saw in a video essay. The point of studying art you love is building your own intuition. Trust your gut. Get weird. Alienate players. That’s how art works.
Doing game design must be wild cuz there could be 1000 clinical reasons why doing something a certain way is wrong but there will still be a gaggle of mfs like "I like it that way"
And if you lean too hard into the preferences of the focus-tested majority, you sand off all the interesting edges
