Standing up to a tyrant - who is willing to impose pain as leverage to compel loyalty or acquiescence - is hard. You can convince yourself that yielding stops the pain and brings you back to "normal".
But there is no "normal". Submission emboldens the tyrant. The threat grows.

This is encouraging. Californians understood the assignment. We got loud and spread the word on Prop 50. This is a fight against Republican anti-democratic tactics, but we still have to vote.

My 18 year old granddaughter just told me how frightened she is for her Hispanic friends who live in a nearby ag community….they heard ICE was in the area. They’re afraid to go anywhere even though they’re US citizens for fear they might be apprehended for the color of their skin.This has to stop!
