It’s in somebody’s interest to make us think the government can’t make its mind up on fiscal policy. There’s no way of checking if it’s true.

Those of us who keep seeing the Scandi countries reported as being the happiest on the planet are positively keen on the idea of ‘tax and spend’. It provides security and decreases anxiety when society has got your back.

It’s true. Their empty little gossip-column heads are all we have now. The government would be better off running a podcast rather than expecting that lot to ask questions about policy.
