Those of us who keep seeing the Scandi countries reported as being the happiest on the planet are positively keen on the idea of ‘tax and spend’. It provides security and decreases anxiety when society has got your back.

But being under age is only one of the issues. The others are, was there consent? Were they trafficked? Were they free to leave?

It’s true. Their empty little gossip-column heads are all we have now. The government would be better off running a podcast rather than expecting that lot to ask questions about policy.

What they mean is, when they were young, and their parents looked after them, and they had nothing to worry about.

I am economically inactive largely because I’ve been obliged to live in parts of the world where there are no jobs to match my expertise.
