Plant phys folks - question- can city lights increase PAR that much to increase growing seasons? Somewhat skeptical of a PAR impact - but suspect that the warming and artificial water and fertilization signal is much much larger 🌾🌐

Atmospheric CO2 has passed 430 parts per million.

The last time atmospheric CO2 was at 430 ppm was during the ancient Pliocene Era, three to five million years ago, and humans didn’t exist.

I am very happy to see our paper out! Plant responses to many stresses are mediated by the same processes and I have long wondered how this relates to hotter droughts.

🌿🔥How heat and VPD shape tree survival? We tested how acclimation to high temperature & VPD impacts drought mortality. While heat speeds up death via leaf area expansion, VPD acclimation slows it down by enhancing stomatal control - balancing mortality timing. doi.org/10.1111/PCE....
